I have been looking through the manual a bit and haven't quite figured out what I am looking for here. I have the G2 and i typically either dive single tank or sidemount. However coming up i have a couple of dives where I will be doing a single tank dive with a pony as a bailout. I was wondering if I disable sidemount setting but pair the 2 transmitters, will the remaining bottom time count the pony as well, or just the T1 pressure as that is what I will be breathing off? I am looking to treat it as a single tank dive, but would prefer to have the pony pressure available.

If you're not using the pony the pressure won't change during the dive. If you need to use it, you're just going straight to the surface, right? Right?

Yes. What I want to make sure of is that the remaining bottom time won't be using the reserve pony bottle as usable air. I don't plan on using it, but having it air integrated will be good to know that it's not leaking or something else is wrong by seeing the pressure.

Can’t you see the pressure with an spg?
Wouldn’t a pre dive check catch a leak? And most, myself included, charge the pony, then turn it off, and leave it off thru the whole dive. I only turn it on when I switch over to it, at which point you are ending the dive. Any leak at that point, barring a catastrophic failure, still shouldn’t allow you to not do a safe ascent even with it leaking.

Also.....I can’t think of one single advantage of having a transmitter on a pony bottle vs an spg. But I can think of several very good reasons why that would be a bad idea.
