Question about cylinder markings!

Hello!
First of all this is my first message on this forum, i found scubaboard to be a great place for info in regard to some questions i had in the past.
So my question is:
I bought a ECS Eurocylinder 3L 300Bar tank from a retailer in France, a 300Bar M26 valve and a 300Bar filling adapetr. I opened the package in which the cylinder was shipped, i read the markings on the cylinder and somewhat of a boom: PS 230 PT 450 BAR? how could this be a 300BAR tank when it has the 230BAR marking? I checked a few other tanks i own: twinset 12L BTS and it has the marking: PS 230 PT 346 (or 348) BAR, a Scubapro 15l PS 230 PT 348 BAR and so on. I saw the 450 BAR test pressure on the tank, but what about the PS 230 BAR?? Why not 300BAR???
Any help on this matter would be appreciated!

Could you make photo of this markings?
Normaly - testing pressure is 1.5 more then working pressure.
When you have PT 450 you should have PS 300.

e.g.
M25 DIN 477 - M25x2 neck thread (with a DIN477 connection, rather than EN 144-1. This is significant for the o-ring/washer fitted when the valve is serviced)
PS232 - Pressure, Service: 232 bar (aka "Working Pressure")
PT342 BAR - Pressure, Test: 342 bar (aka "Test Pressure")
CE 0090 - CE marking
TU15 - is the sign for TÜV Thuringia (Technical Inspection Association)
2003/11 - manufacturing date
12L - Water Capacity
15kg - weight (technically "mass")
4,5MM - wall thickness
ecs - the manufacturer - Eurocylinders
LLB152 - the serial number
UT - is the sign for ultra sonic test
 
I have very similar 3L eurocylinder tank with ps230 and pt450bar. but the shop sells them as 230bar tanks which would be more honest marketing I think.

I am absolutely sure though that all the tech guys would boost it to 300bar on pure oxygen without any hesitation:D

welcome to the forum.
What I can read from the picture is the following :

PS = service pressure 230 BAR
PT = test pressure 450 BAR
M25 thread ( not matching your M26 valve )
test date April 2018

I would bring it back to the seller
 
@dcg69 - almost all tanks are m25x2 neck thread, it's kind of a standard.
the m26 is the thread on which you screw in your regulator! The valve i bought is suitable for the tank and also the o2 factory clean m26 regulator i'm going to use on this tank

Anyone running O2 to 300 bar is looking for a bad day, no matter what cylinder they are putting it in....
 
@Wookie anyone running o2 at 300Bar would do anything except looking:))))

Thats funny!
I buy my O2 from Air Liquid in 50L cylinders at 300 Bar, run a 5 bottle O2 cascade and have been filling my diving cylinders (including 9x 3L 300Bar RB cylinders) to as close to 300Bar as I can get since 1994, without any problems. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of european RB divers have been doing the same for years without burning cities down too. What are we doing that is so different that you are sure that you will kill yourself if you try to do what we do all the time?
