Been doing some research. First, let me say that I am a film guy, and digital has a ways to go yet before I change over, but I am looking at saving as many lenses as I can when I do change over. Specifically my two zooms (45-100mm f2.8 and 80-240mm f4. (Nothing like them exists in any digital format, and only a few come close in film).

To that end, years ago, I started to try and get the alternate mounts for them (interchangable mounts are available for these lenses). In addition to my native Alpa, I have managed to aquire Universal thread mount for both lenses. (Both Nikon and Canon were supposed to be available, and I knew someone once who had at least one Nikon mount, but I have never seen either).

I have seen adapters for Canon for Universal Thread to EOS mount, which do not have any glass in them, yet preserve infinity. The question is, is that the same lens mount used in the Canon digital cameras? Or do I have to go the other route, and spend the $400 to have mounts made in Nikon format. (Yes, I know someone who CAN do that).

My two longer lenses are T-mount, so they can go any which way. And the 24, 28, 35 and 50 will have to be replaced no matter which way I go at that time.
