Question about 1st stage reg.

My current bc is a scubapro glide 500 and it does not have a backup second stage reg. built in. My first stage has four hoses going out of it. 1. console 2. primary second stage 3. air hose to inflate the bc. 4. backup second stage reg.

My question is if I get another bc which I am looking at my friends genesis phantom. Will I have to change my First stage around or is it like my current setup. I am asking because I know that some bc's backup second stage is built into the bc which will eliminate a hose. Would that be a big deal or can I just put a cap on it?

Just remove the hose and install the plug back in it.

I do not have a plug. Is it easy to get one. Is it something that most dive shops have? I was not sure you could even do that.

If you're uncomfortable switching it around, take it to your LDS. They should be able to help you.

I will probably do that but I was just wondering if pluging it was possible. I think the one I am looking at (Genesis Phantom) will still require the same setup.

take it to your dive shop and have them switch it. IF they charge you for the plug, find another dive shop. I worked in shop for 3 years, the repair dept has a hug bucket of them they get when people bring in a first/second stage to be put together. some shops give the plugs back, they should, some don't.

Ill have to look into the "Hug bucket" thing but, we have at least 50-60 of these things and get them from setting up regs as, they only come with a primary and you have to remove some to install the octo,power inflator, etc...

Sometimes responding to a typo, is all I got...........
