I'm a Fish!
 Who can help me solve 2 mysteries? 1) Went on a 2 tanker and about 2 hours after the last dive stopped for lunch. Went to stand and I had no strength in my right leg. Took 2 hours before I could walk? 2) Did another 2 tanker and an hour after the dives noticed I had purple blothes on my stomach? Am I a disaster or what? Who's got an answer?

(Moving this post to the dive medicine forum.)

If I had to venture a guess I would say DCS; call DAN and get to a doctor.

I would also say DCS.

Like Ber said... call DAN and get to a doc NOW!
Yes, I'd be worried. Call now! What where your dive profiles?

The issue now is the status of these complaints.

1. Has the weakness, and any other symptoms (e.g., numbness or tingling) in the R-leg completely or nearly completely resolved?

2. Are the purple spots fading/resolving?

3. Are there any other signs or symptoms?

4. How much time has now elapsed since the last dive?

If the answers are: 1=Yes, 2=Yes, 3=No and 4=More than 24 hours, then recompression treatment, or any other medical attention, is very unlikely to be of benefit. Simply monitoring the situation should be sufficient.

If the answers are anything other than as above, then it would be prudent to give DAN a jingle at (919) 684-8111. That line is manned 24/7.

Please do let us know how matters progress. It's how we learn.

PS: Should such an event occur in the future, immediate administration of 100% oxygen and an emergency call to DAN are the proper course of action.

Each one of these symptoms happened on 2 seperate dives that were 3 months apart. The one that actually concerned me the most was the day I lost control of my right side.

...for those of you who would like to help out with this mystery, that even DAN can't figure out, let me know your thoughts.

All physicians that I consulted ruled both out once they saw my profile - even DAN!

I'm a little confused.
1) Your post contained only enough information to lead us to believe you did 2 dives, found you couldn't walk then ate lunch and did 2 more dives leading to purple blotches but never saw a doctor or consulted DAN. We are concerned for your safety hence the "call Dan and see a doctor" references.
2) These forums are for learning from each other, you are correct. We would love to help you solve your mystery but you need to include ALL of the information you currently have.

Please post everything you know and have been told by the doctors and DAN if you would like some assistance.
