Hello! I'll be in PC April and we are staying at the resort next door to Iberostar. I have used Dresslers In Coz, Cancun and Jamaica. I was very happy with their service but may want other recommendations as I've read their dive sites are not the best at that location. Suggestions on operators in the area or specific dive sites we should hit there will be appreciated. All advanced divers on this trip.

The diving in the Punta Cana area is not good. The best diving and it's very good is out of Bayahibe on the south Caribbean Sea side of the Dominican. There is reef diving, wall diving, wreck diving and even a cave dive.
I always use & highly recommend Scuba Fun. I have been diving with John pretty much twice a year since 2016 (minus the covid years)
It is a small local dive shop in the village of Bayahibe, John the owner is at the shop every morning, most of his staff are long term employee's which is unheard of in the Caribbean, so they know the dive sites well, they will keep & rinse your gear, and their rental gear is top notch.
They have dive packages that include transportation for divers staying at Punta Cana area resorts.
I prefer small local dive shops over the big chain on site dive shops that are foreign owned.
Tell John that Steve from Canada sent you and I will see him in October.

I went on one dive in Punta Cana and never considered going on another. The swells were HUGE and I don't remember there being a reef at all. Very strong current and just not an enjoyable experience. I was at Club Med and there was a floating seaweed barrier where we had to wait ~10+ minutes each way for someone else to come move which was miserable when it was super rocky. Every person on the boat got sea sick.
