Went to the Pumpkin dive that Inner Space Diving in Vernon put on, and it was a very nice event. Very well organized and, oh, the prizes! A KAYAK (everyone was lusting for that), a BC, good-size BBQ, big oval bath tub (go figure..), hoods, gloves, paddles, kayaking vests, and enough small prizes so EVERYONE went home with several of them. They had enough categories to make artistic merit a moot point, with every skill level you had a good chance of winning something nice. Hot chocolate and chili and hot dogs and good company. Incredibly easy access, picknic benches within spitting distance to the lake and ample parking. And in the lake, 4 boats to explore, one of them a very nice tug leaning dramatically against the ledge just at the edge of daylight, at 60' - 70 '. Kokanee, suckers and crayfish. Warm, too, about 51 degrees, but viz wasn't great, maybe 15 - 20'? Too late for this year, the park closed yesterday, but if they put on another even there next year, I will come and can only recommend it! Stay for the night and do Kelly, Pavillion or Johnson Lakes the next day - Interior color therapy!
