Before i forget i guess i post my trip report.

Flew into San Juan, rented a car drove 2hr to west coast to a small town of Cabo Rojo.
Rented casita in Haciendas Cabo Rojo. Nice and safe, however if i do it again i would go rent something @ Boqueron as it is very close to diving site.

I initially set up my dives with Roxanna, but it never materialized as i was staying to far from her operations.

Called around found a very interesting operations @ Boqueron, Pirate Divers guy name Osvaldo 787-692-1077. i like his operations very much. They have small boat to dive with 2 people up to a huge 30+ people boat. Very safe operator., dive master, instructor and a captain diving local waters for 35 years!.

We dove with Osvaldo and others up and down the coast.

IMHO

LaParguera is ok very overfished and to my understanding overrated.

Boqueron is a nicest place i found. I guess because diving there starts 12miles out , not too many people dive it., i ended up diving it 4 times, hit every time.

Here is a little video i put together:

Dove Desecheo island with Tino divers, since they are the only operators there i had to bite the hook, otherwise i would stay away from them.

Hello,

I am glad you had a good time. Puerto Rico is a beautiful island. I did a few dives off Boqueron in 2009 and enjoyed that. Great elkhorn coral.

I agree with you on La Parguera being overfished...but it's a lot of fun and extremely convenient.

What was the problem with Taino?

Thank you again for posting this!

Problem with Tino? not in order of importance.
1. Greed : charging $130 for a 2tank dive
2. Greed : promising 32% nitrox, then telling me they have none once im ready to dive
3. Greed : mixing 1 snorkler with boat of divers, hence we could not do drift dive for $50 !
