Im in the early planning stages of finding a place to go this summer. Planning on early August. Due to the availability of inexpensive airfare ,Im strongly considering Puerto Rico. Im willing to risk the fact that it is hurricane season but Im wondering about rain. I realize its not the peak of rainy season, but after reaserching weather info,it seems fairly substantial. Is it an all day rain....does it rain days on end....or is it a typical south Florida afternoon rain with sunshine the remainder of the time? What typically can I expect for air temps at that time?. Please email me at tkojis@new.rr.com as I often forget to check my posts. I would appreciate first hand information from someone local or someone who has been there at that time of year on several occasions....Thanks in advance......Tom

Sent you an email, but i'll copy here for future reerence.

Hi Tom,

I'm going in mid April, but I have a coworker with family in the region.
He seems to think rain everyday, a little in the morning and some in the evening, but nice in between - blows in quick then goes away.
Watch out for mosquitos.

August is usually nice weather until 2-4 in the afternoon with an hour or so rain and clearing after that. Dive conditions are good with the exception of the nasty "H" word. Last year we lost a few days of diving due to Dean going by to the south of us. I am in the NW corner of the island and we can almost always dive on the North or the West (10 min drive) or both in August.

Enjoy your trip.
