Anyone know what's the weather like in Puerto Galera in mid October?

Mid October is just at the end of the rainy season so it is still possible to have a typhoon and the vis usually isn't at it's greates though it isn't as bad as it would be at the height of the rainy season (June - August).

I have had good luck diving at that time of year in the Philippines - good luck!!

how coincidence, I'm planing to make a trip there on 9th till 12th Oct.

Not too happy bout the weather there at the moment. Hopefully it'll get better by end of this month *finger cross*

I'm planing to travel light, meaning, I'm not bringing any gears / accessories other than my beach wear & swiming trunk. Anyone can recomend a good dive shop / facility around there?

Heard a little bout Sabang beach. Any comments?

How bout the dive spot? Any nice diving spot and not to be missed?

Little Sabang beach pretty much *is* the dive center of Puerto Galera (the actual town is a couple of miles away, and you probably won't go there). Probably some of the best diving I've ever done, although I understand there are even better spots around the PI. A nice local dive is Verde Island, but really, everything is great.

I stayed at El Galleon, and dove with Asia Divers and can recommend them. However, the whole beach is lined with dive shops and small hotels, so finding someone to take your money shouldn't be a problem . Here's one listing a found on-line:

Just came back from Puerto Galera. Dove there last Saturday and Sunday and it was awesome!!!! =-)

You should try Oceana Resort since the amenities are quite good and the food is also good. Plus they have nice, clean rooms, and a pool!!! Aromatherapy massage is available for only PhP 350.00. The place is inexpensive, and would cost a lot less if you have plenty of people sharing the ferry from Batangas to Puerto Galera with you. I think the resort can arrange this.

If you're going to Sabang, Puerto Galera... Might as well check out Big Apple. They have the cheapest dive prices around Sabang, they have courteous staff and the DM's are great. I would suggest you dive at Canyons and Sharks Cave. But be carefull at Canyons, the current there is really strong.
