Puck Air - no longer will connect to Dive Organizer

My puck air and the proprietary pc interface cable are less than a year old and will no longer connect to Dive Organizer so I can download my dive logs.

I still get the green led when powered by the usb port, still get the red led when the pc link mode is activated but that's it, Dive Organizer never "discovers" it.

Initially I thought it was related but now I doubt it (log file excerpt), but I clicked the upgrade to 2.20 recommendation (was running 2.19) right after downloading my latest dive. After the "update" I could no longer connect.

I looked at the log file dive organizer generates and saw this potentially pertinent snippet:

Sure hope the "EEPROM has failed" doesn't mean what I think it does...

Any assistance would be appreciated.
