:confused:Question??? After removing my O-rings for storage I realized that they are two different diameters. One for lid and one for the main body. ANybody find any data telling which is lid and which is main body. Looked in manual and it just says make sure you get them in correctly but no mention of biger/smaller

Thanks in advance.

i think its bigger for the body and smaller for the lid. i dont think the bigger o-ring will fit in the groove for the smaller one.

That's correct. I remember freaking out on a Thailand liveaboard because, all of sudden, my o ring didn't fit. TG the video/photographer on board figured it out for me and switched the o rings. Man, did I feel stupid. I blamed it on jet lag.:rofl3:

One more reason not to remove the oring, just wipe it down with your finger.

I believe that would be true for several days of diving. However if you are going into a 3-4 month or more storage. It is in your best interest to remove the O-ring and store it as described in the Origional owners manual. I have never (hope I don't mojo myself) had a flood event by removing the o-ring for storage.

On another similar topic has anyone found a dealer who tends to have o-rings in stock. I would like to have an additional set in my travel pack. Looks like a lot of people advertise that can sell them but not many keep them in stock.

Also, you would not want to fly with the orings in place. The pressure change will mess them up. I found and extra o-ring for one of the sizes, but not another. But of course now I forgot where I got it. Maybe on ebay. I'll have to get another back up before my trip to Australia.

is this a problem even if i carry it with me in the pressurized cabin? i didnt know this and i always bring it as carry-on baggage with o-rings in the housing.

Would you fly right after diving? Do your ears pop when you ascend in an aircraft? Do your little bottles of liquid sometimes leak? Of course there are pressure issues even in a pressurized cabin. Carrying the o-rings in a sealed baggie rather than in the housing, even if you have it in your carry on, is advice I have gotten from other photogs with a lot more experience than I have. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Once my o-rings are in on a trip, I don't take them out until it's time to leave. Unless, of course, when I do a test there's a leak.
