I will be traveling to RI on business soon. I was wondering if there are any shore diving or boats that go out during the week or weekend which I might try? TIA

You can try these guys -- Narragansett Pier Dive Shop-- about 45 minutes south of Providence in Narragansett. They run a charter boat as well as local shore dives. If you just want some local shore diving, they can set you up with one of their DMs (I've done this before if I'm in that area for the weekend and don't have a buddy).
They will rent you gear if needed as well.
Their web site is not always up to date, but it will at least give you contact information.

Ocean State Scuba is another. They are in Jamestown where 90% of diving in RI is done. When are you going? I might be able to set you up with a charter in Charlestown who'll take you to some wrecks. If you need a buddy, PM me.
