promate bcd

just found a great deal on a promate elite tec bc800 does anyone know anything about it? I have looked online but cant really find any reviews.

is one BIG bc with LOTS of stuff dangling off of it. If you don't plan to ever travel to a dive site by plane with it, it may work for you...

Tusa puts out the same BC as well. I forget the model, but saw it at the store today.

Don't know if you've acted on this already, but the bc800 and this tusa appear to be the same BC

This goes for under $300 too. The promate version is probably just fine.

I would not want to haul that thing around. To my mind smaller is better.

shepakins is looking at his price point which many jacket style BCs like this fall into. Many people like these for the jacket floatation and pocket space, and this isn't that heavy. It also doesn't come with all the hanging bits out of the box. The reviews of the Promate's Tusa branded brother give it high marks.

How's the quality? What are your initial impressions?

seems to be of high quality my instructor said he really liked it. I did loose one of the weight pockets when i was trying to get them out and back in for that exercise. I just didn't do it quite right. the pockets are very large and easy to access, floated me way higher than anyone else in the class was able to float with their bc. did have a little shifting the first day but I got that straightened out, all in all I liked this bc and was glad that I made the purchase.
