I recently purchased the sherwood wisdom computer. The other day, I dove with it for the second time. Near the middle of the dive, the air pressure reading went nuts. It would go up to 5000 psi, and then jumped around a bit, and then back to normal ( i hope ). Anyone ever heard of this problem.

Never seen that... I'd have it checked out - and or replaced. Did come from an autorized dealer right?? If so, Sherwood should swap it out without any problem.

Last weekend, I met a diver whose Wisdom insisted his newly filled tank was at 1,100 PSI, the end pressure reading from when he surfaced from his last dive. When I stuck a pressure gauge on the tank, which felt full, by the way, the gauge registered 3200 PSI (it was a hot day). This was his Wisdom #2. Sounds like a similar problem to yours.

I'm on my third manufacturer replaced Wisdom. Just before both #1 and #2 died, the LED reading started to disintegrate, then the screen flashes "ALT" for a split second, then lights out. #1 died on land, while #2 died in the middle of one of my favourite dives. Each made it to roughly 80 or so immersions prior to their untimely demise.

I've had it from different people north and south of the Canada/US border that there is a problem with the early issues of the Wisdom. Seems plausible...it is fairly new on the market.

I won't dive with the Wisdom without a backup SPG now. Even though I'm still aborting the dive, I still want to do my safety stop, and I still want to know how much gas I have on my back while I'm doing my safety stop.

Unrelated to this, but I have recently started using the Wisdom as well.

I find that after a dive, there is water under the plastic bezel. As well, although the manual says it should shut off automatically after 2 hours out of the water, mine is now at 24 + and still going.

Has anyone had similar issuses?

I purchased 2 Sherwood Wisdom last year. I have had both replaced due to different reason.

The first started giving me bogus Air readings. On a full tank I would read 800 pounds. Shut off the air and turn it back on I would get 1100 pounds. Switch out gauges I would see 3000 pounds.

The Second one was replaced because it Flooded out on a dive at 30 feet. My buddy was using it when turned to me only 5 min into the dive and showed me the screen freeking out and then went blank. Needless to say we aborted the Chocolate Lobster Dive. I looked at the Wisdom on shore and noticed that there was water in the unit. When I contacted Sherwood support then let me know that they dive have a batch that when out with bad seals on them and that this could be the problem.

Both units were replaced and we have had 30 dives on one with no problems and the other we have had 31 but now we are unable to download any data from it. Apon contacting Sherwood support they recomend sending the unit back in.

Can we say stike 3 your out. Debating on weather I want to dive with these units any more. Looking at replacing.

Well according to Sherwood

"Your Wisdom computer will stay on until it is finished calculating your 'off-gas' time"

I asked for some clarification, since it is ridiculous to think that a computer needs to be on to perform such a simple calculation.

Imagine taking 24 hours to use an RDP.
