Problems with custom setting on xz-1

Last time I used this camera I was able set up a custom setting for one type of shot and had manual set to a different shutter speed and f stop.

Just went in to make some changes to my custom settings and saved them.

Next I went to make some changes to my manual settings.

When I turned the dial back to custom, the custom settings I had saved before were gone and instead, the settings were the same as those that I had just made to the manual setting... though I didn't go into the custom menu to save it.

So now my custom and manual settings are the same no matter what I do. When I make changes to manual, those changes show up as custom. Has anyone else had this issue?

Can't figure out what is going on.... I was able to have custom and manual settings that were different before but can't get that now. HELP!!!

don't know. I only use manual, aperature priority, shutter priority, and iAuto. the first 3 are set for forced flash and macro and the last for no flash.

Have been told that custom won't save F-stop of shutter speed.... just the other settings. Which, IMHO, doesn't really make it a custom setting.
