I wear sizes 12-13 shoes and I bought size 12 booties with extra large scuba pro split fins and whenever i get into the pool to perform my skills i get instant cramps and I have very stong legs is the problem the booties or the fins?

try streching, getting craps just being in the pool might be an indicator you need some exercise.
btw; Welcome to ScubaBoard.

As a long time competitive swimmer and now coach, I really think a lot of cramping issues have to do with kicking technique. I've seen many times where girls on my team are having cramping issues, only to have them resolve and not return when kicking techniques are cleaned up.

Fins are designed to give you more surface area to displace water. If your feet or legs are slightly out of alignment during a kick, cramping can occur. No, I'm not a doctor or a biomechanic specialist, just speaking from experience in working with swimmers.

I´d add that you should also kick easily. Don´t kick too hard.

Are you curling your toes when you kick? Sometimes new divers do this subconsciously and it can cause cramps pretty quickly. Try it at your desk, stretch your leg out straight, point your toes and curl your toes in your shoes (like making a fist), feel what your feet and calves do.

I normaly don't get any leg cramps. The only time that I have is when I have tried to push myself too hard. That results in an instant cramp.
