I posted that I had some sinus issues going on and asked for some advice/opinions on the Pro Ear mask – got positive feedback and went ahead and ordered it. Well, much to my surprise its not uncomfortable at all – I thought it would be bulky and uncomfortable….is neither. I look forward to trying it out this weekend – I am going to hate going back to a non-purge valve mask…..but if it helps me keep water from clogging up my ears I am all for it !

One question – I have had my mask kicked off my face before (always a joy by the way). In the unlikely event that were to happen, does the sudden rush of water to my ears pose a problem? I assume not since they are still being equalized to the ambient pressure, right? I am also going to wear my vented plugs – I have really taken a liking to these bad boys :-)

The folks I know who use the Por Ear say there is no "sudden rush of water" into the ears. Because the air that's already in the ears is at ambient pressure, it keeps the water out pretty well - it's sort of like just sticking your head in the water at the surface without going down at all. They have had no trouble removing and replacing the mask at depth without getting any water to speak of in their ears.
Try it in the pool - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Anyone have a link to pictures? I don't have ear problems or anything but I'd love to see what it looks like.

Indeed!
That's the best price I've seen on that mask yet.
Good link.
