oman Crashes Into Water, Saves Coffee

The Associated Press

OAKLAND, Calif.— A woman is safe after losing control of her car and accidently driving into the waters of the Oakland Estuary. But on the upside, she saved her morning coffee.

Authorities say the car went into the water a little after 6 a.m. Thursday after its 22-year-old driver apparently lost control of her car while reaching for a cell phone.

After the car became lodged in stilts under a home on the water, the driver was able to get out of the car and make it back to shore.

Onlookers say she came ashore still cradling her coffee cup.

Maxwell House Coffee needs to jump on this one. What a commercial opportunity:
"Maxwell House, good to the last drop!"
:coffee:

Did you want cream in your coffee? OK but just a splash.

We have had people drive into the drink for a lot of reasons like drunk, whoopee, drunk and whoopee, HUA, double D’s, thongs but coffee has to be a first.:shakehead:

Most Navy divers over the level of First Class Diver and a lot of commercial divers have a perminately crooked right index finger. I suspect a few could do the same.

Also, one's favorite coffee cup will have been "seasoned" well and to loose it would mean many months of coffee stains to re-season a new cup. It's eaisier to hold on to it.

Can't wait until July so we can start citing these idiots who think they're driving phone booths. I bet the coffee was from Starbucks..... That stuff is expensive!!!

Hey, did anyone throw out a boom or do a haz mat containment and cleanup? Starbucks coffee has a high acidity level.

the coffee never got out of the cup!

that water that she dove in is disgusting. We've done training dives where a divers bottom time is not 20min...its whether he finds a weapon or not, and usually we have shorter dives

my friend on the dive team did his first blackwater dive right out of the academy in that water. he landed stomach first on a loaded 9 mil pointed straight up at him.
