Primary Reg vs. Octopus

What is the difference between an Octopus Alpha 7 and a Primary Regulator Alpha 7? I know the faceplate is a different color and usually they breathe differently.

But, with a faceplate change and re-tuning could one be turned into the other?

Detune, change the face plate, change to a longer hose (yellow available).

This one is just the opposite. It was used as an octopus. So, I'll just order up a new face plate and ask my LDS to retune.
