Today, UTD released the online classroom materials to support the UTD Regulator Service Technician Certification Class. These are excellent support materials, consisting of 17 chapters including Power Point presentations with instructor voice overs, schematics, and closeup video presentations. The class covers breaking down diaphragm and piston first stages and balanced and reversible second stages, cleaning, servicing, and rebuilding. The class videos are an incredible resource - a step by step procedure that is an excellent reference on how to service and fix regulators.
These are only support materials for the Regulator Service Technician class. In order to receive certification the student must complete a 2 to 3 day hands-on class with a UTD Instructor.
These classroom materials are also a fantastic reference for all divers to learn and understand how their regulators function and to "Field Service" their regulators. The classroom materials will help all divers keep their regulators functioning and in tip-top shape between service periods.
The Regulator Repair and Field Maintenance materials are also included in the Professional Development Training Package, which consist of Cylinder and Valve Technician (CVT), Technical Gas Blender, Extreme Scuba Make Over (ESM) and Regulator and Field Service. This is an excellent package of training materials in preparation for anyone who is interested in classes to service equipment, blend gas and perform cylinder visual inspections.
