I was looking around here. I'd like to get more information on the Fleur Marie and the Loblaws wreck, GPS numbers, are these things buoyed? who maintains the buoys (sos) ? what is the procedure for private boats to do wrecks on the American side in Ogdensburg? I would be very interested in doing these wrecks in the near future before the charter season gets in full swing. I suspect if there is charter moorings on these wrecks they wont be raised until the season opens. also I'd like to hear from anyone who has dove these wrecks.

thanks.

I'll post the numbers later Art, got room on the boat for a few hockey players from Ottawa I understand they have some time off at the moment :D , Also there is the Lilly Parson's sister ship in the channel around there and of course the Eastcliffe Hall. SOS Ottawa maintains some of the bouys in the area. You would have to ask Kevin Ripley which wrecks are in the loop.

If you're crossing to the US side to dive, you need to clear customs. I'd "strongly" recommend to contact US Customs & Immigration directly for the info as well as contacting Canada Customs on the precedure to clear back in. These guys DO NOT kid around, so make sure you do it right. One hint I can give you, everyone on your boat (private, non-commercial) is CREW, you DO NOT carry passengers. As soon as you say or write the word "passenger" the rules change.

Unless you plan to dive quite a bit over there, I'd avoid the hassle and take a charter.

I don't think a lot of people run charters out there and honestly I've been doing some research and I can see why. the wrecks aren't that good. it's sort of a historical/personal interest/I have a boat so what the heck kinda thing.

thanks for the suggestions GH and thanks for the numbers T.
