Greetings to the SB community! This is my first post, and I hope I've selected the appropriate board.

I am in the later stages of planning and preparing for a Dive Master internship in Indonesia during July and August. I have no reason to doubt that the dive center is well-run and well-regarded, but it does not appear to be a PADI member.

Is it correct that I only need to ensure that the internship instructor is a PADI member in good standing? I mean, at some point someone has to sign me off as a DM, and that person must be a recognized PADI instructor, correct?

Thank you in advance for any tips and clarification.

PADI is one licensing agency among many. If you want to work as a PADI DM, you need a renewed PADI instructor. If you have any doubts about the integrity of the instructor/DC, shop around as there are plenty of reputable ones to be found. Meet the instructor and have a chat before putting any money on the counter.
