I was diving the other night in Laguna Beach and we were in about 40 ft. of water, and had left the reef and were swimming over the sand for a little bit, when we came upon what looked to me like a large prawn. It was irridescent with a bit of a green tint to it and was probable between 6-8 inches in length. This struck me as kind of odd, and I was just wondering if that is a common sight in southern california waters in only 40 ft, and if so what kind of shrimp or prawn might this have been??

Thanks for any insight.
