Hi I have this port on my PT-E05 housing and I have found it good.

I use a 50mm macro lens with it mostly and the only problem is that if I keep the UV lens protector on then it hits the front glass.

Is there a small extension available that would not impact on the macro abilities of the lens and would allow me to add a 1.4 TC later if I wanted to. I noticed that Reef photo have an extension for the 1.4 TC (PER-E01) and they say it is for a 300-330. will this allow me to use the 50mm macro lens and UV glass with a 1.4 TC? or maybe a 2.0 TC.

Somewhat specialised question but I am sure Phil R or somebody may know the answer to this one.

Umm, take the filter off? It serves no purpose underwater. You wouldn't want an extension as that would not allow you to get as close to the critter and get full magnification.

I am with Jack, just remove the UV filter.

If you go with the 1.4 tele converter you have two choices for port extension attached below. I love the Athena stuff but it is more expensive. The 50 macro plus 1.4 tele converter is my most used macro setup.

P.S. these extensions work with all of the housings that except the Olympus ports, including the Nexus and SeaTool housings for the E-3.

Thanks guys - I wasnt expecting a golden bullet for this q. BTW I have taken the protector off whilst using u/w you would be a mug not to.

Happy with the lens and the set up and the 1.4 TC is very tempting.
