Potential Answer to RX100 Macro "weakness"???????

It would be interesting to check if the 50mm focal distance is from the front or the middle of the lens as that is actually pretty close.

I have used a lot of lenses with the RX100 and a +10 diopter does achieve macro, for super macro you need +12 or more as per here

I started off this rant about the macro performance of the RX100 on my blog some time ago but that was not just about the size of the capture frame was to do with the fact that the camera really struggle to focus at close range even with focus lights

This lens at very close focal length does not resolve the issue that the RX100 struggle to focus or provides a very large capture area around 10-15 cm distance, you would need anyway another lens to complement it.

Quality of the optics though looks impressive
 
Interceptor121 do You have plan to test it?? If yes then please let us know how it works.

The lens is probably excellent but am happy with what I have already and have no macro trips planned right now
