I tried to post a photo in a thread and when the new post frame appeared the yellow icon with the mountain was not there to add one....is this only available in certain forums?

That is correct... very few of our forums support imbedded pictures. If you go to the "Advanced" menu, you can always post an attachment.

In some forums like the Underwater Photo forum the IMG tag will work but it doesn't work in all forums. In areas you can't use it either post the image as an attachment (if you have the rights to) or post a link.
