hey i was stuck in port douglas for 4 months on a movie project in peak scuba time july till november, i missed out on the coral bloom but life goes on
you dont need much to dive on the outer reef in these months, i was in a 3mm cutoff but shorts and tshirts could have done some days
Calypso Snorkel Dive Sail the Great Barrier Reef with Calypso Reef Charters - Port Douglas Australia AWESOME, they do opal reef which isnt anything hugely special, a big moari rass at north opal reef wouldnt do more than 3 fdays with them as you will visit most of there sites but they opened up some of there old sites just as i was leaving, did 16 dives with them, they have 2 boats, one snorkle one scuba/snorkle word is they are making them both scuba snorkle really well set out, girls with big boobs working as crew, really friendly you will see them at the court house any sunday afternoon for happy hour,
Poseidon Snorkelling Diving Great Barrier Reef Port Douglas Australia Poseidon Cruises PADI Diving well alot of kiwis working on it, great people nice service, good priced, good+ equipment, good lunch, you may feel like your rushed, tender picks you up on 3rd dives which is a nice end to a day, say hi to dean if he is there, he was a corman/medic for the HBO TV series being filmed called 'THE PACIFIC'. only bad thing is you may feel rushed, good thing is they do drift dives if you ask and tides are right
Aristocat Port Douglas Australia Snorkelling, Scuba - Aristocat Port Douglas has the same hull as supersonic one of the quicksilver boats out there, my friends raved about these guys as they had 'a expresso machine' let me tell you its no big deal machine coffee taste worse than powdered coffee if they girl dones know how to make them, the sites where good, similar to poseidon, but i would prefure poseidon for the dives and Aristocat to check out big breasted back packers, not a great ride back thru a shipping channel and was choppy both times
Haba Haba Great Barrier Reef Adventure - Dive and Snorkel Cairns - Port Douglas was the last dive operator i went on, great people on board, thou they only do 2 sites the tender can drop you off for a 3rd site, as they choose sites closer on the outer reef you dont feel rushed and have a good day, only operator to use oceanic equipment up there, they only have smaller aluminum tanks so no good for us heavy breathers, they did have 2 larger steal tanks so i was very happy thru out the dive, even saw a green sea turtle sail past me at 22 meters
