Ok I was reading the post-dive food thread and it made me think about post-dive rituals. I generally follow this forumla:
1. Throw gear in shower
2. Squeeze in shower with gear
3. Wash and rinse all of the above
4. Hang wet gear all over apartment until it resembles a dive locker
5. Get into comfy sweats or yoga togs, comb hair
6. Inspect and rinse any "booty" recovered from the bottom of the sea (shells, rocks, sea glass, golf balls, etc.)
7. Assemble the following on the couch: snuggley blanket, heating pad (as needed), snacks, hot beverages, DVDs, laptop, and fish ID books
8. ID fish and critters I saw
9. Logon to SB and brag about the cool stuff I saw/did
10. Watch DVDs and surf the net until body core temp. returns to normal :D

Not very exciting I know, but I'm sure everybody has some little ritual so please share :D

Hmmmm this is a difficult one :05:.
1. Lug gear to the backyard and rinse everything off with the hose.
2. Leave gear outside to dry, (usually this is in the evening/ night so I don't have to worry about the sun burning everything up)
3. Take shower.
4. Write up logbook, this is perhaps my favorite part. Lol it's like my dive diary.
5. Critique my dive, dive technique (buoyancy, navigation, air consumption) and plot methods of improvement.
6. Reminisce about the dives done and dives past.
7. Wonder to myself when I can get in my next dive.
8. Surf the net and go to dive related websites, this is my positive affirmation of why diving is worth the hours of long journeys and lugging gear all over the place.
9. Pass out.

10. Repeat as necessary :)

Depends on if this is for one or more days of diving.

Single day of diving:
-Log all the numerical info of my computer into my divelog and get buddy signature
-Eat and drink
-Fill out my log in detail
-Toss gear in shower
-Veg out for a few minutes
-Upload pictures taken and send out dive reports
-Shower myself and gear
-Crash

After day one of multiple diving days:
-Log all the numerical info of my computer into my divelog and get buddy signature
-Leave gear in trunk aside from maybe the wetsuit if I'm in a decent enough location to hang it without worrying about it 'walking' away
-Eat and drink
-Fill out my log in detail
-Veg out and talk about the days dives, past dives, whatever else
-Crash

These steps will continue until the last day of diving(aside from step #2), in which case the following will be added...

-Toss gear in shower
-Veg out for a few minutes
-Upload pictures taken and send out dive reports
-Shower myself and gear
-Crash

At over 9 posts per day, you're body of work here is setting a positively Julie Parkhurst-esque pace. You're gonna get whiplash. Or you may burn out all measureable contributions and you may get run...

KIDDING

Post dive:

- Rinse / soak stuff (giant covered roughneck trashcan)
- Hang stuff (6' aluminum ladder, hang DS on DS hanger in tree)
- Toss DS undies into washer
- Download Vytec to PC
- Download photos to PC
- Go through wetnotes to log anything of note in log book
- Pour glass of wine, view photos
- Hit ScubaBoard to goof on dive buddies

That's about it.

1) Toss gear in trunk.
2) Drive home.

That's generally about it :)

Yo Gidd - you might want to pace yourself! At over 9 posts per day, you're body of work here is setting a positively Julie Parkhurst-esque pace. You're gonna get whiplash. Or you may burn out all measureable contributions and you may get run...

Sorry  I have an excuse at least, I'm a grad student and I have no life.
Besides if dive buddies/aquaintances didn't spend so much time "goofing" on me I wouldn't have to post so many retorts

Yeah... I tried this once, but my wife started complaining about the wetsuit stink after two days and I had to take it out and wash it

1. Lay all gear out in driveway.
2. Hose everything off
3. Rinse out inside of BC
4. Hang everthing up on patio to dry.
5. Logbook entries.
6. Check Scubaboard
7. Talk to dive buddies on phone
8. Plan next dive trip

My post dive procedures (after 23 years out of the hobby) for fresh water dives are:

1. unpack all gear on to a thick waterproof tarp on my slanted driveway
2. arrange everything with the dirtiest gear furthest downhill
3. wash everything thoroghly with a hose (and scrub brush, as needed)
4. hang BCs and wet suits on hangers in the garage, from the ceiling
5. hand wash, dry & prep masks, snorkles & regulator gear in a sink
6. spread the remaining gear to dry in the garage on a thick plastic pad
7. complete any remaining log book entries (using downloaded dive comp details)
8. ensure that all water has been drained from BCs
9. inspect and repack all gear within 36 hours in an indoor closet

Please note that I now dive with my 12 year old son in a variety of Texas lakes.
