Possible to use Inon WAL w/out housing?

I currently have a C-5050Z, and will eventually (very soon actually) get a housing for my trip to Hawaii, but I was wondering, can one buy the Inon WAL for this camera, and attach it directly to the camera (instead of attaching it to the Ikelite housing) so as to use it on land?
