I don't see why not. I doubt it will give you the same peroformance I experienced with the Xstream first stage. It may behave more like an Oceanic Omega.

The Xstream octo is (wholesale) priced only $2 cheaper than the normal 2nd stage, so I'd bet they'd be pretty close to the same critter.
You'd be hard pressed to find a better 1st stage than the Xstream though, it's pretty much what everybody else wishes theirs were like.

Yes they are the same. Agreed on the 1st stage.
