Greetings from Singapore!
I am using a Jetstream regulator and poseidon 1st stage. Would you know if it is possible to add a different brand octopus to the poseidon 1st stage?
Thanks

No, No, and No. Poseidon uses a higher interm. presure and you can't use regular or cheap octos. They will eventually give in to the higher pressure and begin a free flow. Where do you want to be when this starts to happen? I use the Cyklon 5000, and it's matching Octo. Poseidon makes some of the best regs in the world, bite the bullet and put together the right combination for reliability and safety.

According to Poseidon's words for Triton (the one I own):
«Triton Octopus has the exact same performance as the main second stage. A result of our philosophy: Safety before everything.
The octopus must give You the exact same safe performance and function as the main second stage as it expected to be used under the most extreme situations»

So think twice before buying an Octopus from other brand

Cheers

I don't know if it is too late to answer your question, but the previous answers are just not correct. Most "octopus" regulators have springs that will allow use at the higher pressure. Poseidon interstage pressure is only about 10-20% higher than other regulators and if the octopus is adjusted properly at installation, it will work just fine.

Just my $.02

You can also have the IP reduced to whatever you need. My Odin was factory sent to me with an IP of 138psi (which is in the ball park of many regs out there). I've kept it there, but it's common to reduce them to 120psi for increased reliability and cold water performance. There was thread about this a while back.
