I recently bought an old Cyklon 300, with a yellow second stage which was first bought in 1989. I also bought a Poseidon Odin, this first stage has 4 lp ports and 1 hp port but the model of the first stage I dont know however I am wondering if I can put the Cyklon 300 second stage and use for an Octopus with the Odin? Do the two second stage take different IP settings?

Thanks,

James

yes you may.
They both fall within the same general range and may be tuned to function without issues.

Thanks for the input. I got another Cyklon 300 today and it had a SPG with it. I was trying to put that SPG on my Odin but noticed that my Odin HP port is smaller, I guess the older 3/8" size? and so I could not connect them. I then unscrewed the SPG from the hose hoping that would change out, but one was a IDI SPG the other a Tabata and though I pull them off from the same location from their respective hoses, that wont work since one had the oring part coming out of the SPG side the other from the hose side. With all these different sized ports and my older Cyklon 300 2305 which had the nylon washers instead of orings seems like I will not have anything match.

You can get adapters to hook your old Cyklon hose to a 3/8" UNF port, or just get a new hose for the Cyklon, they're currently 3/8" like everybody else.
The IP on the Cyklon is supposed to be around 180 psi but they'll work fine as an octo or deco reg at 135 - 145 psi.
You wouldn't want to stick an Odin/Jetstream on a Cyklon 1st stage if it was set to 180 psi though.

Hi Bob,

Was a Thor (Oceanair) just an Odin second stage put on a 3070 model Cyklon first stage, and if so what is the IP for that? In the manuals it looks like the Thor and Odin had almost identical if not identical second stage.

Thanks

The 3070 was usually on the later model Cyklon 300s, in use after the 2305.
I'm guessing but the Odin/Jet 1st stage during that time frame may have been a 2962.
I'd have to dig through the manuals to get into specifics time/name slots.
Most all the Poseidon models use 135 - 145 psi (except for the Cyklons).
We regularly de-tune Cyklons used on bailouts or deco regs down to 135 - 145 psi, they don't seem to mind it all that much & breathing resistance is still within an acceptable range.
