im looking for a new reg. and it needs to have ports with ample room for transmitter from hoseless aas well as drysuit hose, inflator, also both regs, which models would fill this bill as well as cold water rated and wet air

Since you put this under Mares,I would say MR22/Abyss.
Very solid all purpose reg.have had one for over 10 years, been diving it at 2degree C.

2 HP ports
4 LP ports

cheers.

what about the proton metal?

That has nothing to do with it (sorry)
Proton is a second stage.the ports you want are on the 1st.

All of the diaphragm first stages, with the exception of the MR12, will work just fine with a radio transmitter.

WHY would a MR12 or any other 1st stage, not work with a transmitter

Maybe Doug should step in here

On the MR12, or any other reg with the ports in a barrel configuration, it might cause an issue with the hoses and transmitter being too close to one another. The other Mares designs have no such issues.
