I am a new diver and my wife doesn't dive - (But hopefully will be certified by this cruise.) We will be going on a cruise on May 1 for our anniversary. I have yet to pick a cruise, because I want to see where the best diving is in the CARIBBEAN (Western or Eastern). So, we'll go wherever you tell us! :D I have dove in Roatan and it was cool. So tell us where to go! :D These are the things we are looking for...

1- Lots of aquatic life (fish, sharks, etc)
2- Lots of colors
3- Warm is always nice

Thanks!!!!

I don't cruise but even I might go on this one:

Four Fabulous Dive Destinations - Pick 2
7 nights - Carnival Legend from Tampa - Jan 9, 2011
Grand Cayman (7-4)
Cozumel (10-6)
Roatan (8-5)
Belize (8-3)
2 at sea days

If it's possible to add Bonaire/Curacao and/or Turks/Caicos that would hit most of the top dive destinations - at least the more easily accessible day stops. fwiw, I've been to all these places except Cozumel and Belize(next April).

I have been diving the eastern Caribbean a lot and never been to the western Caribbean. Here are the ports I have been to:

- British Virgin Islands (Tortola: Wreck of the Rhone; if you can get over to Bath)
- St. Thomas (not bad, some wrecks with a fair amount of marine life; occasional big fish/sharks)
- St. Kitts (dive with Kenneth's; good marine life. saw turtles)
- Dominica (very beautiful; lots of marine life; very pristine; favourite place so far)
- St. Lucia (second favourite place; a LOT of marine life; Superman's Flight is a great drift)
- Barbados (not too impressed; I'd skip it if there was a good land tour)
- Grenada (was an okay dive but mostly wrecks; not much better than Barbados)
- Bonaire (third favourite location; lots of macro life; go slow and look carefully)
- Curacao (good amount of marine life; I'd always dive here)
- Aruba (just a dive; very touristy location; all the sites I went to were very busy)

Most of these are warm but Barbados can get a little chilly.

Hi,

Curacao is the place to be with 65 dive spots accesable from shore. And warm water 86.4 degrees

I took the Carnival Legend this summer from Tampa. We made stops at the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, Belize and Roatan, Honduras. I dove at each stop. I enjoyed diving in each of the locations, but Cozumel and Roatan were by far my favorite destinations. Also, for non-divers there are plenty of other activities.
