Port Elizabeth

I am in South Africa mid May...

since I will be there for a couple weeks I thought it would be cool to hit the water.... Similar to others I have no clue (besides some of what I read online) to tell me whether it's worth bringing kit along to do some diving.

Is port Elizabeth worth a call around to find a spot to dive...

I would give prodive in P.E. a call. I use their Plett branch quite often and they are a decent shop with an eye on safety.

I have only dived P.E. once. My recollection is seeing more raggie sharks than in Aliwal. Generally it's cooler water coral and fish, but I imagine that things change with the seasons.

If you are in the area, worth going for a dive.
