Does anybody know of any public pools that allow scuba gear in Atlanta or Lawrenceville area? Hell, how about anywhere in GA. I have found a few aquatic centers that allow scuba diving, but only for contracted instructors by the county. Bullcrap I say, I want this "policy" changed. I'm workin' on it, but in the mean time, does anybody have any suggestions? I was going the public pool route because I'm looking for an indoor pool.

thanks folks,

David

You live in lawrenceville too? Must be a neighbor of mine...

I'm not sure of any public pools where you can practice, but if you find one, let me know, i could use it too.

DiveDiveDive off of sugarloaf (behind the Publix) actually owns one end of the pool at Swim Atlanta, but i'm not sure what you could work out to use the pool there.

DawgDiver,

This is a mission of mine, and by god, I'm going to find one. I'll let you know. I'll give DiveDiveDive a call. I live near Collins Hill library by the way.

I do commercial pool service work around Atlanta. I do not know of any pools indoor or out that would allow just anyone with scuba to dive.

Is night diving in a neighborhood pool, that's not mine, a bad idea? I'm getting desperate here people.

seaventures over in alpharetta has an indoor pool, but I think you have to buy into their club to use it. I think the club membership is $50 annualy, but it does give you extra benifits on other stuff like air fills and discounts on scuba equipment.

Thanks Kyle, I did know of seaventures, I just wish it was a little closer to me. If all else fails, I'll join those folks.

we have a comm. pool here in cumming i use alot for checking out gear ect,its out doors, doesnt open till memorial weekend, used to run it,so they dont give me a hardtime about bringing scuba gear, your welcome to use it,just let me know and i will meet you there.

Thanks pal, I'll let you know if I haven't found one by then.

Did you think of checking the YMCA, by chance?? I got certified there way back in the day, i have no idea what membership fees are now, or scuba policies.
