Poll: Can we bring back our own trash?

I would like to know the sentiments of the PPD if there was a proposal or activity to bring back our own trash back to Manila? For example, if we buy from a hamburger chain and eat it on the way to Mabini, the plastic cup or wrappers we do not throw it in the garbage bin of the resort but keep it till we reach Manila and dispose it there.

Another example is if we smoke, can we bring back our cigarette butts?

ill be honest, nope, i only do that when im in the mountain, but i do make it a point to bring back my SI trash from the boat or beach to the resort, ie. placing my cigarette butts in my booties..

Not back to manila, but back to the bins of the resort.

Reason :

1. Dive resorts are operating a business
2. a dive resort pays municipal, and national taxes
(if they pay or not that is not the burden of the guests )
3. taxes collected by municipalities cover trash handling
4. resorts have trouble with trash handling....... part of business management.


i also carry my trash from the mountains back to the municipal trash can .

what to do with plastics ........ ?

There seems to be no poll - but my response pretty much echoes Paos... You ar epaying them for their services, trash handling is one of those services.

I won't bring it back to Manila either, this is something that should be a basic part of running this type of business down there. I don't mind paying my slice of the waste removal cost when I pay a resort bill but that's where it belongs.

I'd hate to attach a crystal bowl ashtray to my bc...

Seriously, I dispose trash in the resort's trash bins (cigarette stubs in ashtrays) after that I don't care what happens to it. It's not my problem anymore. Disposal of trash are the resort's responsibility not the guests.
