Hi all,

Long time reader/lurker, first time poster, very appreciative of all the advice I've gleaned here over the past 2-3 years.

While my wife and I are set up for local diving with our own drysuits and steel 100s, we still aren't in love with PNW diving and typically spend two weeks a year on tropical dive vacations. The cold water doesn't bother me, but I find the combination of tides/currents and poor visibility to be disorienting and unpleasant. We haven't given up, but we are very picky about conditions.

I hope to take the GUE fundamentals class someday, I'm personally not interested in technical diving but I do think that the tech world has a lot to offer recreational divers in terms of trim, buoyancy control, streamlining, etc.

Thanks for reading, now back to lurking until I feel I have something helpful to offer (doubtful...)

howdy and welcome from south Florida USA...

Welcome to SB Jay! I'm with you on the warmer waters, just doesn't seem as nice as the tropical dives!

Welcome Jay!

I absolutely love diving in these waters, as it gets me under the surface. I will tell you, there are a few gems, my favorite being Waadah Island by Neah Bay. Bit of a drive, but absolutely stunning. Keystone Jetty is a good shore dive. Plus there is some good diving just across the border.

If you are down south (Seattle area), PM me if you want to dive.
