Seeing that Eric Cheng is the Dir of Photography at Lytro, I think we'll be seeing UW photos with one soon.
 
I started a THREAD about this a month ago. It seems like this technology is ideally suited for underwater and other wildlife photographers, and probably sports photographers. Who else gets pictures that are out of focus? I understand portrait photographers might want to adjust the depth of field in post-processing, but that seems like a pretty limited application. If there's no time pressure and your subject isn't moving, you ought to be able to get the focus you want.
 
Funny, I didn't know who E. Cheng was. SO I found his web page.

Yeah. It's a good bet these will be utilized underwater at some point.
