Need to know what kind of 1st stage this is. Don't know anything about it.

This 1st stage came with a SEAQUEST XR2 second stage. Does anyone know what it is??

Cousteau /SEA firts stage.

Is that from an auction from a seller named "allegro auctions"? The reason I ask is because that popped up in the link to this thread when I clicked on it. Are you "allegro auctions" or did you buy it from him?

It's been years, but the names I remember are Infinity, Spectrum and Mirage for Seaquest. I have the same reg as pictured, but I can't find the manual.

That is a Aqua Lung SEA first stage. It was also marketed up until 2002 under the Sea Quest name in a first stage/second stage combination as a Spectrum XR2. Good, solid first stage.

but it says the brand "SEAQUEST" how can it be a us divers SEA??

Because they are all owned by the same "Parent" company.

The Cousteau SEA is a balance diaphragm 1st stage used with many of the high performance second stages that USD, Aqua-Lung, & Seaquest sold.

I Remember when Apex first came out here, The 2000 service manual said:

Sea Quest
Apex T20

I'm pretty sure this guy is an ebay seller named "allegro auctions" who at one point changed his name to "blissdiving." Jonniex, would you care to comment on that?

Hope you all don't mind my resurrecting this thread. I've got the same 1st stage, with the cold water kit and the XR2 Cryo 2nd. It does look similar to the Cousteau/SEA 2001 parts diagram I've got, but not identical. The body of the reg in the pic is more elongated and square at the HP seat end - what the pictured reg is sitting on - than the diagram of the SEA, where the body tapers to a small rounded face where the end plug is. Also, the LP ports are in a line parallel to the yoke axis in the pictured reg, and the HP port is on a recessed flat, whereas in the SEA diagram, the ports form a triangle with its apex centered under the yoke, and the HP and LP ports at the base of the triangle are on the same surface .

I ask because I'm looking for a service kit for the reg and want to know what to get. I'm convinced this was sold as the Spectrum, but it doesn't look like the SEA, at least according to the diagram. Can anyone clear this up?

Mike
