XJAE, could you post the shots by the hole in the ice? Anybody else have some good ones? Showboat a little!

Gary, is the deer okay? Looks to dang cold for me. Our temp in our house is set at 74 and I still get cold and have to wear socks or my feet turn purple. Nice pictures and I like the "see, we do walk on water" phrase.

The attached photo is of a fellow who was into the extreme ironing thing. I took this photo a few years ago on an ice dive. I had a minor flood in the old Nik II but still got the shot, sort of.

it's a few years old but here is one.

It was a beautiful day. Crisp, clear, cold. That is moi sitting on the edge of the hole.

Sorry i didnt see this thread sooner... I've been thawing.
Actually, this only looks cold... it's really just a mindset thing.

Anyway... We've been making this pilgrimage to Colchester, VT for some time now.
This year we had the bonus of having actual snow fall on the hole...

Here's the album... http://www.wreckvalley.com/gallery/v/USA/album01/Ice2006/Carl/

The vis was not as good as last year... I had an album out there that was destroyed by a hacker...
I have the proofs but haven't a chance to go back and recreate it.

Although I did manage to save this one my buddy Rob took of me and my Bro...

This winter was an obvious disappointment to everyone in the North East, as far as winter sports is concerned. The ice up in VT on Lake Champlain barely reached 8-10 inches and it looks like the window of opportunity will only span three weekends. The snow storm in the above album kicked up and was met by 35mph winds which cancelled out the next days dives. I was planning on going back up this weekend to finish up some photo and video plans I had, but it looks like it will be over 50º and raining, so... I guess we will hope for a better season next year.

That looks so neat. I was hoping to do it this year but our mild winder here in Maine prompted our instructor to cancel. He just wasn't comfortable having a hole in the ice with tenders, dsafety divers and all the rest in the same place. Better safe than sorry.

At least by next year I'll be more polished in my drysuit.

That's a geat shot JXae.

Catherine, I posted the pics from our ice course this past weekend on my site if you want to check them out. You saw a few of them in the other thread.
