We had a great shore dive last week at Playa Lagun. The operators at Bahia Dive Shop, a PADI facility located right at the beach have a nice clean shop. They gave us some great tips on where to look for the seahorses and the frog fish.... we found both seahorses and the frogfish... yay!! :yeahbaby: They have rinse tanks and a shower to rinse yourself and your gear off. There is no facility fee, but be gracious and give them a nice tip for providing such a nice facility and hospitable service. Parking is free and there is a security guard on site too. I didn't notice if they had lockers or not.

Discover Diving is the original shop at Playa Lagun and they do have lockers, although there was no one around the shop was still closed the morning morning we did our two dives.... by the time we left the shop had opened.

There are also a couple of restaurants on site or you can bring your own picnic lunch... I think the sign said the beach chair rental was $3.50 USD. You can also get a massage on the beach too.

The civered concrete picnic tables are free - the $3.50 only applies if you use the white plastic charrs.
Thw beach is free.

Did you eat at the Bahia clifffside bar/grill? How was it?

Did you see the turtles? Usually just outside the cove entrance.

We packed a picnic lunch for between dives so didn't eat there. Yes we saw turtles, octopus as well as the seahorses and Frog fish.

Dove there multiple times in Jan and thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for the post and sounds like a great time.

Is Bahia Dive shop the one on the right as you pull into the drive to the beach that is up above the beach in the lower level of the buildings on the right?

Yep. Bahia Dive is the newer shop on the right. Dived there last October a couple of times, once with a buddy from Marazul (where we stayed) and her buddies (which included Sunshine :)). We saw seahorses, turtles, and flying gurnards. On our earlier dive we saw a HUGE bait ball that extended across much of the mouth of the cove. It seemed like it swam past us for several minutes. It was so big the sea birds were attacking it from the air. Wonderful dives. :D

Thanks. Nice friendly shop. Went down there to rent 63s for my wife while staying at Lagun Blou.

I was at Lagun last week. We dove it on Tuesday and then came back to dive it again on Friday. We also used Bahia Dive for tanks on Tuesday. They were super friendly and helpful and their dive briefing was thorough. The parking lot has a security guard on site.

The dive site itself is great - you get the reef, the cliff walls, and the lagoon all in a single dive. You can easily spend over an hour just exploring the lagoon. The site is relatively easy to navigate if you have a functioning compass. The lagoon walls are oriented east-west (more or less) and there is an underwater navigation aid at the edge of the reef to tell you where to turn back to the lagoon.

The topside scenery is also great - you get the hills to the east and the beautiful Curacao water, the beach, and the cliffs to the west.
