Just returned from Playa Del Carmen on the Mayan Riviera. I had read some excellent reviews on Dennis Weeks of Diablo Divers so I decided to go with him. He is on the board as Pez Del Diablo. Dennis was great. He arranged a day of boat diving with a local dive shop (Aquanuts in Puerto Aventuras) and acted as our DM. The boat and crew were excellent and Dennis did an excellent job in listening to the type of diving we were looking for and having the boat take us to two different, great sites. This was especially important as I had my newly certified son along and we wanted something that was not difficult or too deep. Dennis was great with my son; making sure he was comfortable, and equally as accommodating to the experienced divers in my family. He let us dive our plan but was always there to offer assistance and advice and point out interesting things.

On the second day we did some Cavern diving with Dennis. He took us to two different Cenotes. His briefings were very thorough and interesting mixing in geology, history, and dive protocol. He was very safety conscious, but not in your face or overbearing. Again he picked dives that would be suitable for all of the divers given their experience levels.

If you are going to dive the Mayan Riviera, either ocean or cenote, I highly recommend Dennis at Diablo Divers. His web page is at http://diablodivers.com
