Had a great dive the other day at Los Arcos. It's one of THE nicest wall dives in Playa del Carmen - covered with gorgonians, tunicates, huge sponges and has lots of other marine life to see. The two arches are also cool and when there's mild current, can swim through one as you begin your ascent.
Among the marine animals we saw: several stingrays, some large barracuda, ocean triggerfish, and large schools of jacks and creole wrasse. There are lots of critters (lobsters, moray eels, juvenile fish, etc.) on the wall as well. The highlight of our dive was when a HUGE loggerhead turtle swam up from the bottom as we did our deep stop. Came right up to us, checked us out and then made its way back down. It was a perfect photo opp!
If you don't mind current (can be strong on some days) and are a diver with some experience, Los Arcos is definitely worth a visit.
