Looking in to the beginning stages of planning a Dive Trip to Playa Del Carmen in May.
In doing some research I understand there might be some kind f Jelllyfish Migration during May that may cause us not to come. Can anyone speak to this and the timing?

Thanks in advance,

Beth

Hola Beth, We have here n may what's called "Agua mala"...it literally translates to bad water. But what it is is a bloom if you will of tons of tiny round moon shaped jellies that have a diameter of about 1/2 inch, so not very big. I have come up after a dive and the surface would be coated in them looking like a black oil spill. We would just hang out on the safety stop till they're gone. In the times where I have surfaced in them, I am generally in a long suit and have no problems. ;-)
