Playa Del Carmen in January

So, it turned out I have more vacation to use than I thought, so now I'm going on vacation again! Weee~

So, I got the flight, roundtrip transportation, and AI resort all booked (Riu this time). Now to concentrate on the activities....

I looked at the on-site dive shop, but their prices look to be MUCH higher than pretty much all the other shops I found. So, does anyone have recommendations for places to dive with (or avoid) while I'm there? I'm planning on diving Sun, Mon, and Tuesday for sure and I'm hoping to dive Saturday afternoon and/or evening as well (plane lands a bit before noon, so not sure about afternoon trip availability) if that influences it at all.

I'm going to Cozumel in late May, so not looking for the "these shops will take you to Cozumel" options right now really.

I'll have ~31 dives and AOW/nitrox certs when I get there.

I highly recommend Nicolas from CenoteXperience - Cavern, Cave and Ocean Diving in Playa del Carmen Yucatan Mexico - Inicio I have with been diving Nico & his brother Martin for over 7 years. They are great guys and excellent dive guides. They have a small local dive shop in Playa that is one of the top recommended shops here on Scubaboard. Tell Nico that Steve from Canada sent you.
