JULY 4th to 12th in Playa del Carmen. I will be in PDC with some 'dive buddies' and would like to extend an invitation to any SBers to join us for a drink. I'm thinking Capt'n Dave's (Bad Boys Beach Bar) on Thursday, July 9th, any time after the morning dive boats get back. They serve light meals (burgers n' such). That is of course if the local authorities don't shut him down or suspend his liquor license again. He opens at 1000 and the music starts at 1600. The place closes at 2200 (thanks again to the local authorities) but anyone who is still in the mood can move the party to wherever. This is of course an invite to any dive op/DM SBers to join us after work. If you are going to join us then add your name to the thread - we'll put a face to it later. Don't like Capt'n Dave's (and who doesn't) - give us another option.

The bar is on the beach between 2nd and 4th Streets. Take 4th Street from 5th Avenue and turn right at the beach - it's about 100 feet. www.badboysbeachbar.com
Be carefull searching 'Bad Boys' it could take you to some sites that you just DON'T want to see.
It's a short walk for you from the Scuba Playa shop. You should check it out beforehand sometime. A lot of ex-pats tend to hang out there.

By the way, remember some of those threads a while back talking about police corruption and such down here? Well, I just got my first speeding ticket. Didn't even offer me the option of a bribe...Now I have to go find the police station to pay the ticket and get my license back. For future reference, the outside lanes on the carretera are NOT the same speed limit as the inside lanes!

hola cavewoman. Go to the municipal transit office and try to pay on the first 5 days after the ticket they will apply a 50% discount, sorry to hear that but looks like we are getting better police around.....hope this helps
