Hi everyone!

My friend and I are planning to come to koh tao on august 11th for 2 days of scubadiving before we continue our trip in thailand. I'm looking forward for recommendations of places to dive there and diving centers.

We are both new to the sport with just above 12 dives (2 stars), so we are looking for a place that is friendly for newbies like us, with cheap accommodation nearby, and most importantly - beautiful and diverse places to dive.

Thanks!

Master Divers.

All the dive shops on Tao visit the same sites; but some of the shops have excessively large boats full of trainee divers and some shops make a point of visiting sites when they are emptier (better schedule management).

Master Divers is one of the few sites that really caters towards the needs of certified divers.

The best sites IMHO are Chumporn Pinnacle, Sail Rock (further away) and Southwest Pinnacle. They're all deeper sites, but the conditions are normally good enough to make them accessible for novice divers. There's two new wrecks there also, which should definitely be worth visiting.

Thanks DD.

The newest wreck is now upright - we are going to take a look tomorrow and I'll post some photos too.

Cucamber - feel free to message if you want any specific information....

+1 Chumphon Pinnacle

Some of my favorite dives to date were at this site ... expect to see barracuda, grouper, anemone by the hectare, trevally, and maybe juv. yellow boxfish, lionfish, or bull sharks, as well!

I haven't been for a year now, but I'd be kicking myself pretty hard if I missed the Pinnacle on my next Thai diving trip.

Have fun

I loved diving with Davy Jones - Sairee Beach, they have great accommodation too - Dorms and Silver Sands is right there too - Enjoy!
