Close, real close to picking my reg! I live in Ohio where for fun we run up to several rock quarrys in northern Ohio, where, sometimes the water can silt up a bid and drop viz significantly! I spend very little time in these conditions but sometimes you might have to go a dozen of fin strokes or two to get through maybe 0 viz at times for clearer water. many times new divers will fin up the bottom and like I did as a newbie wreck viz with their fins. piston first stages are open to the water therefore silted up water enters the reg. diaphram regs are the choisce for divers in silted environments but what type of water conditions can foul up a quality reg like the MK 20? have you ever seen it happen on rec. quarry diving? thanks Eric

I dive the MK20 in the same conditions that you are speaking of. Kentucky is about the same (we need to dive together sometime) I have never had a problem with the MK20 and I think you will be happy with it.

Good luck on your purchase.

Chad

If you're set on ScubaPro why not opt for the MK16 first stage then since it's a sealed diaphram?
